Summary
This proposal seeks to delegate the ~16,9k combined stkAAVE and AAVE voting power held by the Balancer DAO treasury to karpatkey’s delegation multisig. This voting power will be actively used by karpatkey in the Aave governance process.
Abstract
Since the passing of [BIP-103], karpatkey has served as the active treasury manager for Balancer DAO.
In September 2023, karpatkey posted their delegation platform and became a recognised delegate for in Aave. In the two-month time frame since launching their delegation platform, they have participated in over 60 on and off-chain votes and have authored one proposal to more closely align the Aave and Balancer ecosystems.
Motivation
This proposal seeks to establish an AAVE/stkAAVE delegation that would empower karpatkey to better support initiatives that align the Balancer and Aave ecosystems.
karpatkey is the treasury manager for Balancer DAO and an active delegate in the AAVE. With this positioning and awareness, the karpatkey team is well-suited to represent the Balancer DAO’s delegation.
This awareness can be demonstrated in karpatkey’s first proposal in the AAVE community, [ARFC] Enhancing Aave DAO’s Liquidity Incentive Strategy on Balancer, which fosters governance actions that consider mutually beneficial options for both AAVE and Balancer.
By delegating this voting power, karpatkey can utilise idle voting power on additonal topics such as:
- Voting incentives for Aave’s pools on Balancer; and
- Topics that make Balancer the “de-facto” AMM for GHO liquidity; and
- Safety Module (SM) updates.
Specification
The Balancer Treasury managed by karpatkey 0x0efccbb9e2c09ea29551879bd9da32362b32fc89 will interact with the AAVE 0x7Fc66500c84A76Ad7e9c93437bFc5Ac33E2DDaE9 and stkAAVE 0x4da27a545c0c5b758a6ba100e3a049001de870f5 token contracts in a batch transaction by calling the delegate function, passing the karpatkey governance multisig 0x8787FC2De4De95c53e5E3a4e5459247D9773ea52 as the delegatee for both tokens.
This will delegate the voting power and proposal power of the AAVE and stkAAVE tokens to karpatkey’s governance multi-sig.
