[BIP-56] Re-enable CREAM/WETH 80/20 Gauge [Ethereum]
Voted no. clown world proposal
[BIP-57a] Introduce Gauge Framework v1
Voted yes. In an ideal world it would not be necessary but we live in the real world which is not ideal. Hopefully this marks a turning point where we will no longer have 150 replies in a thread but instead recognize that we are all working together towards a future where Balancer is successful. This must be our guiding north star that we rally around as a community. Compromise is necessary and inevitable - spamming nonsense isn’t the way to make that happen.
[BIP-57b] Introduce Gauge Framework v1
Voted 2%. A gauge can either scale with emissions (generate more protocol revenue) or it can’t. If it can’t, 2% is more than sufficient as it allows the gauge to continue to exist until such a time that it does generate protocol revenue. Every pool is given an opportunity to prove that out and we ensure the majority of Balancer’s emissions are going to the right places.
[BIP-58] Increase Snapshot Quorum
Voted 500k to err on the side of caution but 2M is probably the better outcome really.
[BIP-59] Enable MAI/USDC Gauge on Ethereum
Voted yes. MAI/USDC can scale just fine. I’m sure this will convert to yield bearing once that opportunity is there.
[BIP-60] Enable XSGD:USDC “FXPool” Gauge [Polygon]
Voted yes. This is the result of development work funded by the grants program which is pretty cool.
[BIP-61] Operating Procedures for DAO’s Selling Their Locked BAL Position OTC
Voted yes though I have no strong opinion here really. This forces the buyer to gain Balancer’s approval at least - unless we have already whitelisted the buyer of course.
[BIP-62] Stable v2, composableStable, Weighted v2 Permission Granting
Voted yes. Let’s hope and pray this is the last permission granting proposal for awhile.
[BIP-63] Enable IB/WETH 80/20 Gauge w/2% emissions cap [Optimism]
Voted yes as the 2% cap removes the risk of too many emissions being directed here. This gives IB time to grow and we’re the home of their liquidity - if they are successful in the future, we benefit. Long tail reward is there, risk of emissions blackhole removed by the cap.
[BIP-64] Revised Gauge Migration to Composable Stable Pools
Voted yes. Let us hope and pray this migration holds.
[BIP-65] Enable INV/DOLA 50/50 Gauge on Ethereum w/2% emissions cap
Voted yes, same as the IB gauge. If INV is successful and grows in the future it is simple enough to remove this cap. Meanwhile the risk of an emissions blackhole is removed.
[BIP-66] Migrate Lightly Used Gauges to Capped
Voted yes. This is simply a reflection of what the reality would be today if these gauges were up for approval. We can protect against some bad potential outcomes now while it isn’t controversial and the only inconvenience is a required gauge migration for LP’s. Worth it imo.
[BIP-67] Enable rETH/RPL Gauge [Ethereum]
Voted yes. This has been long planned and the release of the new weighted pool factory means it can finally become a reality. I hope the introduction of this gauge will be the start of a new wave of core pools that lead Balancer to start stealing some serious market share.
[BIP-68] Enable wstETH/LDO Gauge [Ethereum]
Voted yes, similar story to the last one. Now the work begins of gathering more interest in pairing project tokens against rETH and wstETH.
