Since the formal inception of the Balancer DAO in 2021, the Balancer Maxis have served as a foundational pillar of the ecosystem. As the DAO matured, most services have transitioned to professional entities, yet the Maxis have remained a dedicated group of passionate contributors operating without formal organizational structure.
Recognizing the need for greater professionalization, the Maxis began evolving their internal structure in early 2024, transitioning into a specialized onchain operations team. Throughout this period, the Maxis have consistently delivered where others could not, providing mission-critical services to many partners. Some obvious examples are operating the DAO’s multisigs, collecting and processing the protocol’s fees and managing third-party rewards on gauges.
However, with the formal alignment of funding proposals within the DAO, the Balancer Maxis will cease to exist in their current form. Instead, a new overarching legal entity called MAXYZ has been established, which will provide comprehensive EVM blockchain services to the ecosystem.
Our core mission and values remain unchanged. The MAXYZ entity will provide technical and operational services to the Balancer ecosystem, building upon the foundation established by the former Balancer Maxis team. Our mission focuses on delivering reliable onchain operations, strategic partner management, operational tooling as well as white-glove technical services.
