[BIP-739] Delegate Gyroscope GGU to DAO Participants

Summary:

Gyroscope Finance, an innovative partner and builder on top of Balancer is preparing to launch their governance voting process into effect in the coming weeks and Balancer DAO has been presented with a significant portion of that governance power in the form of GGU. Balancer has been delegated 1702 GGU which I am proposing to be split evenly between three Balancer DAO SP members who are currently Gyroscope delegates, Xeonus, Defi_naly, and myself (Zen Dragon).

Motivation:

Gyroscope Finance has been a fantastic show case of how effective teams can leverage Balancer’s infrastructure to streamline their go to market strategy. Gyroscopes flagship product has been the ECLP or elliptical concentrated liquidity pool. On top of this Gyroscope deployed Rehype pools which utilize 2-CLPs to create a similar solution to boosted pools on Balancer v2 which gained a large amount of traction in the previous months. Needless to say, Gyroscope is an incredible team to have in the Balancer ecosystem and the Balancer DAO should take action to help Gyroscope increase it’s decentralization and governance system quality in any way it can.

In order for Balancer to participate in Gyroscope governance in a decentralized and effective way, three delegates from Balancer DAO service providers will be delegated Balancer DAOs voting power (GGU). Defi Naly, Xeonus, and myself have been Gyroscope delegates for several months already and participated in several Gyroscope forum discussions. This delegation will in no way be permanent, but will enable Balancer to have trusted delegates participating in such a crucial partners direction as governance ongoing discourse occurs regarding Gyroscopes future endeavors.

The vote weight can be confirmed via the AssociatedDAOVault by passing the DAO Mutlisig:0x10A19e7eE7d7F8a52822f6817de8ea18204F2e4f into the getCurrentRecord read function. This returns 60 units of raw voting power, corresponding to the total GGU.

The vote weight can delegated to each of these participants by the DAO Multisig: 0x10A19e7eE7d7F8a52822f6817de8ea18204F2e4f by calling delegateVote on the AssociatedDAOVault: 0xA2321E23B3060e160195E138b62F8498546B0247 and passing each of the addresses above, with the amount: 20

This wil total an even split of the 60 raw voting units to each of the above delegates.

I feel honored to be chosen as one of the Gyro delegates. I hereby confirm that the above mentioned address is under my control which is also used as a delegate address in both the Balancer and Aura snapshot spaces.

Having worked with Gyroscope for some time, I’ve gained a strong understanding of their tech stack, and its unique product market fit. Gyroscope’s consistent execution demonstrates their capability and focus. They are a standout success story for Balancer, and I’m eager to contribute further to their growth.
